2. Carefully cut your new draught excluder to the exact length you measured in the previous step, using a sharp pair of scissors or a utility knife. For safety, always cut on a stable surface and away from your body, wearing appropriate gloves if needed.
3. Thoroughly clean the surface where you plan to attach the draught excluder, using a damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry it completely. A clean, dry surface ensures the adhesive will bond properly, so check for any dust, grease, or loose paint before proceeding.
4. Carefully peel off a small section of the protective backing from the adhesive strip on the draught excluder, align it precisely with the cleaned surface, and press it firmly into place. Gradually peel off the rest of the backing as you continue to press the excluder along the entire length, applying even pressure to secure it.
5. Once the draught excluder is fully installed, close the door or window and visually inspect the seal from both sides to ensure it is tight and consistent along its entire length.
