2. Carefully remove the detergent drawer from its housing by pressing the release tab, then thoroughly clean it under warm running water. Use an old toothbrush or small brush to scrub away any accumulated mould, mildew, or detergent residue from all compartments and the drawer's housing before reinserting it.
3. Inspect the rubber door seal (gasket) around the drum for trapped water, mould, or debris. Wipe the seal clean with a damp cloth soaked in a diluted solution of white vinegar or a mild household cleaner, paying close attention to all folds and crevices.
4. To prevent future odours caused by dampness, always leave the washing machine door slightly ajar after each wash cycle. This allows air to circulate inside the drum, helping it to dry out completely and inhibiting mould and mildew growth.
