2. Locate the internal blind mechanism, usually found within the headrail at the top of the blind, and apply a small amount of silicone spray lubricant directly into its moving parts. Operate the blind up and down a few times after application to help distribute the lubricant evenly and free up any stiff components.
3. Examine the blind's slats (for Venetian or vertical blinds) or the fabric itself (for roller or Roman blinds) for any visible damage or bending. Straighten any bent slats gently by hand or adjust the fabric if it appears to be catching, as this can impede the blind's smooth operation.
4. If you discover that the lift cords or operating chains are frayed, snapped, or excessively worn, they will need to be replaced. Measure the length of the existing cords accurately, purchase suitable replacement cord, and carefully thread it through the blind's mechanism according to the manufacturer's instructions or by following the path of the old cord.
